Certified persons must recertify every two years and maintain program integrity/confidentiality and logo usage compliance.

Important Timeline

To remain certified, the recertification process must be completed before the certificate expires. The next validity period is based on the expiration date (illustrated in the scheme).

Recertification Steps

Follow these simple steps to maintain your certification

Ensure all your personal and professional information is current and accurate in the system.

Provide your latest curriculum vitae reflecting your recent professional experiences.

Optional: Submit training certificates (plus points, not mandatory).

Fill out the recertification questionnaire and sign the agreement.

IFMI Review Process

IFMI reviews submissions and makes the final decision; it does not require further explanation or justification. IFMI notifies the outcome and may defer recertification if disciplinary action is in progress.

Consequences of missed recertification

Immediate Suspension Policy

If a certified person does not complete recertification by the end of the certification period, IFMI may suspend the certificate and the right to use the designation starting immediately the day after expiration, including prohibition on using the certificate/mark/logo/designation during the recertification period.
