Bilingual Examination Format
The PPA examination is conducted in Bilingual format, meaning there are 2 versions of each exam problem available:
English Language
Primary language available globally
Your Local Language
Available in RTP-active countries
Language Availability
When there is no bilingual format available, the exam is available in English language only. Currently, the local language is only available in countries where there is an active Registered Training Provider.

Examination Modules
Comprehensive assessment through multiple choice and case-based evaluation
Module A
Multiple Choice Exam
Tests conceptual knowledge of feasibility analysis, risk assessment, modelling logic, project finance principles, and business-model impact.

Module B
Case-Based Essay Examination
Requires candidates to analyze project scenarios, perform calculations or interpret provided model outputs, develop arguments, provide insight, and develop written recommendations supported by structured reasoning.

Important: Closed Book Examination
It is a closed book examination. Use of any application including generative AI is prohibited during exam.
Candidates must complete within the allocated time; no extra time is provided. Invigilators/proctors are assigned to monitor the examination.
Passing Standard and Result Bands
PPA Designation Requirements
To obtain the PPA designation, candidates must meet IFMI's passing requirements, including the stated minimum score threshold referenced in the scheme.
