Retaking the Examination

Unlimited Number of Retakes

A candidate can take unlimited number of retakes.

No Training Requirement: Candidates are not required to re-take any training solely due to examination failure.

Important Considerations

Retake examinations follow the latest FRAC Body of Knowledge and certification scheme. Candidates are required to carefully check the latest changes on the BOK to make better preparation.

Postponement Policy

Postponement of a Scheduled Exam

(One-time)

Candidates may request exam postponement at least 7 days before the scheduled date. Postponement enables the candidate to take the exam of up to one year from the original exam date.

Important: Candidate needs to be aware of the possibility for changes in exam curriculum within such period. Postponement fee is applied.

Appeals of Examination Results

Candidates may appeal if they believe the result is inaccurate, incorrect, biased, or unfair.

Each candidate is limited to one appeal per examination attempt
Independent review
Regrading is performed by a different examiner from the original

Important Information

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee a pass and does not affect decisions related to ethical issues.

IFMI announces appeal outcomes within two months. There is a fee applied for appeal request.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do I have to wait between retake attempts?

Candidates must wait a minimum of 30 days between examination attempts. This waiting period allows time for additional preparation and review.

Can I postpone my exam more than once?

No, postponement is a one-time option per registration. If you need to reschedule again, you would need to cancel and re-register for the exam.

What happens if my appeal is successful?

If your appeal is successful and your score changes to a passing grade, you will receive your FRAC certification. The appeal fee may be refunded in cases of administrative error.

Are there any limits on the number of retake attempts?

No, there are no limits on the number of retake attempts. Candidates can retake the exam as many times as needed, subject to the 30-day waiting period and payment of retake fees.
